Since 2013, more than 900 beds have been built and donated to those in need throughout western Kentucky and even in eastern Kentucky. Jerry Newsome with the Bed Ministry in Marshall County joined us recently on WCBL’s Coffee Call program. Newsome said the ministry gets referrals from the school resource personnel and currently has twelve volunteers. Someone who receives a bed gets the bed and everything that goes with it, including pillows, sheets and comforter. Newsome said the ministry started in his garage and over the years students and others have been shown how to build the beds. The ministry is a 501c non-profit organization and donations and volunteers are always welcome. You can go to bedministry.org, email email@example.com or call 270-703-6452.
