Sheriff’s Office arrests three for attempted robbery of Benton business

Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to an attempted armed robbery that took place in the parking lot of a business in Benton. The victim was able to provide responding Deputies with a description of both the suspects and the vehicle they were driving.

A Detective nearby located the vehicle in question and began to follow it as is attempted to speed away from the area. Another Detective was also able to intercept the vehicle as it then drove through the yard of a residence, coming towards the detective in his vehicle. The vehicle while attempting to elude Deputies, almost struck another vehicle in the Merrywood community.

As the vehicle came to the end of a dead end street, it pulled into the yard of the last residence and all three occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to elude Deputies on foot. Deputies assisted by Officers from other agencies and K9 units were able to successfully apprehend all three suspects. As a result of this investigation, Deputies recovered several firearms, methamphetamine and marijuana that three suspects were found to be in possession of. All three suspects were taken into custody on numerous charges and later booked into the Marshall County Detention Center.

-Ethan Harrison of Mayfield was charged with Robbery, 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree and Drug Paraphernelia.

-Devin Brown of Mayfield was charged with Robbery, 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana and Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd Degree.

-Dalton Brown of Mayfield was charged with Robbery, 1st Degree, Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree (Methamphetamine), Possession of Marijuana, Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree and Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd Degree.

Marshall County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on this incident by the Benton Police Department, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit, Kentucky State Police and the Marshall County District 2 Constable. All who played a role in safely apprehending these three suspects.
