Coffee Call guests today were from Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative

Joining us recently from Jackson Purchase Energy Cooperative on WCBL’s Coffee Call program were CEO Greg Grissom and Scott Adair. Jackson Purchase serves members in six counties covering 2,900 miles of line. Grissom says 18 to 25 percent of outages are caused by falling tree limbs. And as a cooperative, Jackson Purchase is able to help other areas of the country, recently sending a crew to Louisiana to help restore power caused by hurricane damage. Adair says before you turn your heat system on, try to have it checked out and for mobile heating units make sure you keep them away from flammable items. Be sure to have a carbon monoxide detector in your home and check it regularly. And never leave a small child alone with a space heater. It is also beneficial to change to LED bulbs.
