Ballard County at KY-IL State Line
The U.S. 51/U.S. 60/U.S. 62 Ohio River “Cairo” Bridge that connects Kentucky and Illinois remains closed to all traffic with motorists and truckers advised to take an alternate route through Southern Illinois to the I-24 Ohio River Bridge at Paducah-Metropolis. The Dorena-Hickman Ferry is also a viable alternate route- be sure to check tolls and scheduling. Work is on track for the bridge to reopen to one-lane traffic around August 31, 2020. The bridge is expected to have an 8 ft.-6 inch maximum load width with one-lane traffic and alternating flow controlled by an automated signal until about October 1.

Calloway County
U.S. 641 has an active work zone at the south edge of Murray between U.S. 641-Business/Glendale Road and the Clarks River Bridge. While most of the work of off along the right of way, caution is required due to heavy equipment and personnel working in close proximity to traffic. The target completion date is July 1, 2021.

Lyon/Caldwell/Trigg Counties
Interstate 24 has a work zone from the 52 to 65mm with two-way traffic running on the westbound lanes with a centerline barrier wall. Eastbound maximum load width restriction is 12 ft. Westbound maximum load width is 15 ft. There is a strict 55 mph speed limit. This work zone is for a major reconstruction of the eastbound lanes. To avoid the potential for delays in this work zone we suggest motorists consider a self-detour between the I-24/I-69 Exit 25 Interchange and the Exit 65 Cadiz interchange via I-69 and U.S. 68 through Draffenville and Land Between the Lakes.

Fulton County
KY 1128 is closed at mile point at 5.4 to allow one of several bridges that cross Mud Creek to be replaced. This closure is along KY 1128 between KY 1127 and Maddox Road until about Aug 7, 2020. KY 1128 is also closed at mile point 7.6 where inspectors found a bridge over Mud Creek had substructure issues- until further notice

Graves County
Restrictions and detour at U.S. 45-Bypass and U.S. 45-Business at the southwest edge of Mayfield for construction of a new intersection that will eventually connect to the new KY 80 Mayfield Bypass Corridor. This area south of the I-69/Purchase Parkway Exit 21 Interchange has 2-way traffic. This work zone will be active into the fall.

Hickman County
KY 2569/Holland Lane remains CLOSED between the Hickman-Fulton County Line and the Purchase Parkway Overpass due to a shoulder washout during an earlier event- Until Further Notice while engineers evaluate the area and wait for dry weather to make repairs.

Livingston County
A contractor has ongoing paving operations along KY 866/Paradise Road between milepoint 1.37 and milepoint 6.36, a distance of about 5 miles. Motorists should be alert for one-lane traffic with alternating flow between County Road and KY 917 for about the next two weeks

Livingston County
Work has started on the New U.S. 60 Cumberland River Bridge at Smithland. As part of that work, the contractor is doing maintenance work on the existing bridge. One lane traffic may be required from time to time to facilitate that work. During the week of August 24-28 there will be one lane traffic near the Smithland end of existing bridge for utility work. Motorists traveling U.S. 60 near the 12 mile marker at the north edge of Smithland should be alert for trucks hauling materials to the construction site for the new bridge. The target completion date is for the new $63.6 million bridge is Spring of 2023.

Livingston County/McCracken County
The U.S. 60 Tennessee River Bridge at Ledbetter will have an eastbound work zone lane restriction the week of August 24-29, 2020. A contractor will be installing utility lines for Jackson Purchase Energy. The lane restriction will be in about 500 ft. sections.

Marshall County
U.S. 641 has a work zone for roadway improvements and utility upgrades through downtown Benton running from mile point 7.98 near the Town Creek Bridge extending northward to mile point 8.824 at the KY 348/5th Street intersection, a distance of about 8/10ths of a mile. It includes all of the one-way sections of U.S. 641 along Main Street and Poplar Street in Benton. One lane will be open in each direction at all times. Entrances and access for businesses and residences along the work zone will be maintained. However, some utility excavations and concrete work will require brief entrance closures from time to time. Motorists should be prepared to encounter lane restrictions and restricted parking along blocks with construction activity. The target completion date is June 1, 2021.

McCracken County/Paducah
The eastbound lanes of I-24 are restricted to one lane from mile point 2.8 near the KY 305 Paducah Exit 3 Interchange extending eastward to mile point 4.8 just past the Perkins Creek Bridge. This extended eastbound work zone with a 13 ft. maximum load width restriction is to allow bridge deck overlay and maintenance work on 3 bridges. Motorists should be alert for congestion as they approach this eastbound work zone- particularly during peak travel periods. Target completion date is mid-October.

McCracken County
KY 725/New Liberty Church Road is closed for rehabilitation work on the Newton Creek Bridge at mile point. This is a Bridging Kentucky Project.

Trigg County
U.S. 68 has an active extended work zone between mile point 9.4 near Boyd’s Landing Road at Canton extending eastward to the intersection with U.S. 68 Business at Cadiz. This work zone has sections of one lane traffic in each direction and a section of two-way traffic generally between about the KY 1489/Park Road intersection and Canton. This work zone is expected to remain active into mid-September. Motorists are reminded to be alert for almost weekly changes in traffic configuration as work progresses. This project is estimated to be 90 percent complete.
