Murray State University Racer Academy looks ahead to successful year

Murray State University is looking forward to a successful 2020-21 academic year for Racer Academy, a dual-credit program offered to high school juniors and seniors looking to work ahead on their college plans.

MURRAY, Ky. — Murray State University is looking forward to a successful 2020-21 academic year for Racer Academy, a dual-credit program offered to high school juniors and seniors looking to work ahead on their college plans.

Racer Academy is designed for students across a variety of disciplines including nursing, science, business, agriculture, the humanities and education. A University Studies/undeclared pathway is also an option. Led by supportive faculty members who are experts in their field, the Racer Academy curriculum sets students on a pathway to a lifetime of career fulfillment through specially-designed courses and personalized academic support.

Students can earn their Racer Academy transition certificate after completing 12 credit hours in a career pathway that transitions directly into Murray State.

“Racer Academy is a great way for high school students to save money while getting a head start on their college career,” said Dr. Bob Pervine, Murray State University associate provost. “I hope juniors and seniors from our high school partners will consider becoming part of the Racer family and start on a degree from Murray State.”

To join the Racer Academy, potential students must be a high school junior or senior with a minimum unweighted cumulative GPA of 3.0 or rank in the top half of their class.
