CFS falls to Murray in second round of All “A” Classic

Gracie Howard led CFS last week with 23 points over St. Mary and scored a combined 31 points in the Lady Eagles two games in the All “A” Classic.

Following a 58-41 win over St. Mary on Thursday, the CFS Lady Eagles opened play in the All “A” Classic in Mayfield, winning their first game Friday 57-27 over Fulton County but falling to Murray 58-13 in the second round. Murray will meet Carlisle County in tonight’s semi-finals. Mayfield and CCA round out the final four of the All “A” Classic.

Gracie Howard led CFS in the All “A” with a combined 31 points, scoring 22 in the Lady Eagles win over Fulton County. Jayden Jackson was also in double-figures against Fulton County with 11 points. Lillian Burnett had eight points and 10 rebounds.

CFS lost to Murray 58-13 in their second round game of the All “A”. Murray has won the last eight straight All “A” Classic titles, going on to win the All “A” State Championship in 2016 and 2018.

Murray was led by four players in double-figures including Calli Carver with 16, Angela Gierhart 13, Mackenzie Turley 10 and Brooklyn Darnell with 10. Gracie Howard scored nine of the Lady Eagles 13 points in the loss.

Thursday before the All “A”, the Lady Eagles picked up their second win of the season over St. Mary 58-41. Gracie Howard led with 23 points and Lillian Burnett added 14 in the win. Chiara Doran led the Lady Vikings with 21 points.
