Gary Smethers with the Marshall County Veterans’ Support Group, here pictured with WCBL’s Aaron Clayton, joined us on Coffee Call. The support group is currently raising funds for a new van to transport veterans to the VA hospital in Marion or to the VA clinic in Mayfield or to a regular doctor or medical facility if covered by the proper insurance. The new van will cost approximately $70,000 and will be handicap accessible. So far $26,000 has been raised. If you wish to contribute or want to volunteer to be a van driver, call Smethers at 270-210-0754. The Veteran’s Support Group is a 501C 3 organization.
