Riley finishes third for University of Tampa

Former Marshall County High School golf team member, Halle Riley, helped lead her University of Tampa team to a second place finish at the Saint Leo Invitational on Oct. 14-15. Held at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City, FL, the Lady Spartans finished the two-day tournament at +11 (296-291). Riley finished third overall at +3 (147), one stroke behind teammate Sofia Cadavid who finished second at +2 (146). Riley’s opening round of 73 led the Lady Spartans team on the first day of the tournament.

Riley, a freshman, posted her best finish so far in her early collegiate career at the University of Tampa. As a member of the Lady Marshals, Riley was part of six state tournament teams and was the First Region Player of the Year in 2017.

This was the third fall tournament for Tampa. They won the Lady Falcon Invitational held at the LPGA International-Hills Course in Daytona Beach and took second in the Shark Invitational at the PGA National-Fazio Course where Riley placed 20th. Their final tournament of the fall is Oct. 28-30 at the Wyndham Grand Rio Marr Beach Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico.
