Local drug Investigations lead to large methamphetamine seizure in Georgia

Over the past approximate two weeks, the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office has conducted several drug investigations with the help of area law enforcement agencies in both McCracken and Livingston Counties.

Through the investigations, detectives identified numerous individuals with ties to a large drug ring in Atlanta, GA and were delivering large amounts of Crystal Methamphetamine to Western Kentucky. McCracken County Sheriff’s Detectives obtained additional information alleging that a large amount of Crystal Methamphetamine would be delivered to a person on John Puryear Drive in McCracken County on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

Detectives with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Kentucky State Police, and the Drug Enforcement Administration conducted surveillance Sunday afternoon in McCracken County. Detectives successfully intercepted the Methamphetamine (2.2lbs) and arrested one individual in McCracken County.

The investigation continued throughout Sunday night until late Monday evening. Through the lengthy investigation, numerous addresses were identified in and around Atlanta, Georgia that were involved with the drug ring. Information obtained through this investigation was relayed to law enforcement in Atlanta, Georgia. On Monday, September 30, 2019, law enforcement in Atlanta obtained search warrants for multiple residences in and around Atlanta based on the information that was relayed to them. During a search of these suspected stash houses, federal authorities located and seized an additional 35 kilos of Crystal Methamphetamine (77 lbs).

Three (3) individuals were arrested Monday night in connection with the Methamphetamine in Georgia.

A total of 79.2 lbs of Crystal Methamphetamine has been seized in this ongoing investigation. The investigation is still open and very active. No additional information is being released nor can it be released at this time. Additional information will be released at a later date.

If sold by the gram the seized Methamphetamine in this case could be worth as much as 3 1/2 million dollars on the street.
