The Fall 2019 Star Bank Class at Marshall County High School hosted their Grand Opening today at their new “location” in the commons area! This year marks the 29th year for Star Bank at MCHS, which is sponsored by CFSB. There was a large crowd on hand for the event including many CFSB Team Members as well as people from around the community and students friends and family. This year’s President, Jonathan Roberts, welcomed everyone, introduced the Star Bank team, and cut the ribbon. After the introductions, he invited everyone to a wonderful reception they had prepared for their guests.
Mrs. Rebecca Phelps leads the class throughout the year guiding them through the processes of the student run bank. They open savings accounts and even offer small loans to students. Each student will be have their own responsibility on the operations side of the bank in addition to being a teller while the bank is open for students to use. Being a Star Bank Alumni myself, I know it takes a lot of hard work, but it is a lot of fun as well. I know these students will excel and I hope that they cherish every moment!
