KY highway projects active along KY 339, U.S. 45 and KY 80 in Graves County

PADUCAH, Ky. (August 20, 2019) — Contractors for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plan work zone lane restrictions along sections of KY 339, U.S. 45, and KY 80 in Graves County.

Motorists are advised to use caution in work zones at the following locations:

KY 339 from the KY 303 intersection at mile point 6.306 extending northward to the U.S. 45 intersection at mile point 12.300, a distance of about 5.9 miles – Asphalt base repairs starting this week to be followed by asphalt paving starting around Monday, August 26.  Paving to be completed by about September 4, with shoulder work and other finish work to be completed around September 11

U.S. 45 has an ongoing work zone near the 20 mile marker just north of Mayfield for paving of turn lanes at the GenCanna plant entrance.  Motorists should continue to be alert for lane restrictions near the KY 1276/Key Bottom Road intersection

KY 80 from the KY 303 intersection at mile point 12.275 extending eastward to mile point 19.845 just east of the KY 564 intersection, a distance of about 7.5 miles—Microsurfacing to start around September 1 with work to continue through about September 30.  Microsurfacing is an extensive industrial-strength process similar to the asphalt emulsion commonly used to extend the life of driveways.

Appropriate caution is required where equipment, flaggers, and construction personnel are along the roadway in close proximity to traffic.
