CFS opens with 2-0 win over Tilghman

Christian Fellowship’s Lady Eagles volleyball opened the 2019 season at Paducah Tilghman Tuesday and picked up win number one in two sets (25-22, 28-26). The defending Fourth District champions return several veterans including seniors Abigail Cima – the 2018 Region One Player of the Year,  Emma Alexander, Maggie Wagner, Lexi Hovekamp and junior Emma Fletcher.

Head Coach Suzie Burnett is entering her 10th season leading the Lady Eagles who finished 2018 with a record of 19-11, won the district title and advanced to the semi-finals of the regional tournament.

Against Paducah Tilghman, CFS recorded 23 kills led by Fletcher and Cima with eight each. CFS served up seven aces, led by Wagner with 3 and freshman Lillian Burnett with two. Alexander had 16 assists in the win.

The Lady Eagles will play at Caldwell County on August 27.
