The Lyles Eye Center Team of the Week is the Marshall County Lady Marshals softball team. The Lady Marshals won the Fourth District Tournament 4-1 over Calloway County, then went on to win the First Region Tournament on Friday by defeating Graves County 7-5. To get to the title game last week, the Lady Marshals beat Ballard Memorial 14-0 in the first round and Paducah Tilghman 17-7 in the semi-finals.
Saturday in the first Semi-State round of the KHSAA Softball State Tournament in Bowling Green at Western Kentucky University, the Lady Marshals season ended in a 4-2 loss to Madisonville-North Hopkins.
They finish the season 27-14 under second-year Head Coach Mallory Newton. Assistant Coaches are Jordan Gilland, Cayla Levins and CheyAnne Ludovissie.
