Congressman Comer Meets with EMS and First Responders

WASHINGTON – On Wednesday, April 10th, Congressman James Comer met with First Responders and EMS in his Washington Office. The meeting included James Duke of Beaver Dam, Kentucky and Mark Harrison of Benton, Kentucky. The group discussed the Supporting and Improving Rural EMS Needs Act (SIREN ACT) with Congressman Comer. On December 20, 2018, the SIREN Act was signed into law as part of the Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. This law creates a grant program for public and non-profit EMS agencies in rural areas to support the recruitment, retention, education and equipment for EMS personnel.
