On 02-01-2019 Deputy Johnson received a complaint of an intoxicated male possibly abusing his elderly mother whom has alzheimer’s. Deputy Johnson’s caller told him she had video of the incident in question. Deputy Johnson responded to the scene to investigate. Through the course of his investigation Deputy Johnson collected enough evidence to obtain a warrant for the arrest of Jerry A. Waters. The Warrant charges Waters with Knowingly Abuse/Neglect of Adult By Person. Waters …was arrested and lodged at Marshall County Detention.
Deputy Johnson would like to remind the public that this is unfortunately an under reported crime. Victims with mental disabilities and physical limitations aren’t able to report these type of crimes involving their caretakers. The caller in this case did not just stay quiet, she took action that protected the victim from further violence.
