Motorists traveling the US 60-Business/I-24 Business Loop through Downtown Paducah should be aware of increased vehicle and pedestrian traffic this week for the Bar-B-Que On The River.
Many Bar-B-Que teams have already arrived to set up for the event that runs Thursday through Saturday, September 27-29, 2018.
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet personnel have set up portable message boards to alert motorists to the heavy pedestrian traffic.
This traffic alert includes the section of US 45-Business through Downtown Paducah and the sections of 3rd Street and 4th Street which are part of the US 60-Business/I-24 Business Loop through Paducah.
Appropriate caution is required, especially during the afternoon and evening hours when crowds for Bar-B-Que on the River are at their peak.
Motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic in the downtown area as passengers are dropped off near the festival venue and out-of-town motorists seek out parking areas.
