Lady Marshals and Lady Eagles in 4th District championship

Bailey Parker had 10 kills in the Lady Marshals 3-0 win over Calloway County.

Much like Calloway County in the first semi-final game against CFS, Murray rose to the occasion to make advancing to the 4th District championship game a lot tougher on the favored Lady Marshals. Winning in three straight sets, Marshall County advances to play the Lady Eagles for the third straight year in the title game.

Murray led most of the first set, leading by as many as eight points before the Lady Marshals battled back to tie 22-22, going on to win 25-23. The Lady Marshals led most of the second set before the Lady Tigers tied 19-19. Leading 23-22, a kill by Clara Bradley put them up 24-22, Murray cut it back to a one point lead before the set point gave the Lady Marshals another 25-23 win.

In the third set, Marshall County led until Murray took their first lead at 14-13 which was followed by seven ties until the Lady Marshals went up 21-20 and held on to win the set 25-21 to get the 3-0 win.

Halle Langhi led in kills with 11, Bailey Parker had 10 and Jessica Hicks six. Riley Haines had 18 assists and eight digs in the win followed by Langhi with 14 assists. Bradley had six digs and Hicks with five. The team had nine service aces.

The 4th District title game at Murray against CFS will begin at 6:00. The Lady Eagles won both regular season matches over the Lady Marshals.
