Christian Fellowship advances to 4th District title game

Christian Fellowship’s Abigail Cima up against Calloway County blockers, had 17 kills in the Lady Eagles 4th District Tournament semi-final win.

Christian Fellowship defeated Calloway County in three sets in Monday’s 4th District volleyball semi-final and will advance to play Marshall County, who won the second semi-final game over Murray, in the championship game Tuesday at Murray High. The Lady Eagles played Calloway County in their last regular season game winning 3-0, but the Lady Lakers made the win this time a little bit harder with their season on the line.

Sarah Muller led the Lady Eagles in blocks with seven in their 3-0 win.

The Lady Eagles won the first set 25-14 and the second set 25-16 but the Lady Lakers came back in the third set after falling behind 10-2 after a string of service points by Christian Fellowship’s Sarah Muller. They closed the CFS lead to 22-16, going on to tie the game at 25-25 then took the lead at 26-25. CFS tied the set back up at 26-26, went back up by one point and got the 28-26 win on a kill by Abigail Cima.

Cima had 17 kills and four blocks at the net for the Lady Eagles along with seven digs. Muller had 11 kills in the win, four aces, seven blocks and two digs. Maggie Wagner had 11 kills, one ace, one assist, four blocks and two digs.  Emma Fletcher led with 14 digs and had three kills while Emma Alexander had 33 assists.
