With a team score of 331, the Lady Marshals won the Paducah Invitational at Paxton Park Golf Course Saturday by four strokes over McCracken County. Henderson County’s Payton Carter earned medalist honors with a 2-over par 73.

Hallie Riley led the Lady Marshals with 79 followed by Savannah Howell with 81, Megan Hertter shot 85, Sydney Phillips 86 and Kenley Luksic 96. Kennadi Spraggs played as an individual and shot 89.

The Marshals finished third at Paxton Park among a field of 14 teams, with a team score of 326 behind McCracken County with 301 and Massac County at 302 in a tournament that Coach Keith Bell said, “had the look and feel of the upcoming Region 1 tournament.”

Jay Nimmo led the Marshals with 77, Grant Hackney 79, Tyler Powell 84, Nathan Clark 86 and Camdyn McLeod 87. Individual medalist was John Buchanan from Christian County who shot a 2-under par 69.

“It was just a day where the Marshals weren’t as sharp as they have played during the first part of their season”,  Coach Bell said. “Today’s tournament was an opportunity to make a statement however the team’s performance does not define our season.  We will continue to work hard this coming week and prepare for next week’s tournament at Ballard County Country Club.”
