Lamb elected as Mayor Pro-Tem by Benton City Council

Justin-Lamb-HeadshotBenton, KY— Benton City Councilman Justin Lamb was elected Mayor Pro-Tem at the February 20th regular meeting of the Benton City Council. The designation of Mayor Pro-Tem is selected among the city council to serve in the event of a mayor’s absence and is traditionally designated to the council-member who received the highest vote total in the preceding election.

“I am grateful to my fellow council-members and the people of Benton for the confidence they have placed in me,” said Lamb. “There is no greater honor than serving the people of our community and I look forward to working with Mayor Dotson, the city council, and all city departments in an effort to keep our city moving forward.”

A lifelong resident of Marshall County, Lamb is currently serving his first term after being elected to the council last November. Prior to his entrance in city government, Lamb worked seven years as an administrative assistant for the late Judge/Executive Mike Miller and has served on various local community boards including the Marshall County Exceptional Center, Marshall County Memorial Day-Veterans Day Program Committee, Marshall County Relay for Life and Marshall County Habitat for Humanity among others. Lamb is a member of Olive United Methodist Church and is active in the United Methodist Men’s Ministry.
