FRANKFORT, KY (AP) – The Kentucky Department of Travel and Tourism has created a new webpage where people can get information about next year’s solar eclipse.
The agency says in a statement that several western Kentucky communities are in the path of the total eclipse, including Hopkinsville, which boasts it will have the greatest degree of eclipse anywhere, meaning it will remain “total” for longer.

Some are calling it the Great American Eclipse, because the moon’s shadow will cross 12 states.
The webpage www.kentuckytourism.com/eclipse has information about the Aug. 21, 2017 event, including the path of the eclipse and the best places and times to see it. It also includes links to local tourism offices that have information on lodging, restaurants and other special events.
