Flash Flood WATCH continues throughout today

The Flash Flood Watch continues for portions of southern Illinois… western Kentucky and southeast Missouri… including the following areas…

In southern Illinois… Alexander… Gallatin… Hardin… Johnson… Massac… Pope… Pulaski and Saline.

In western Kentucky… Ballard… Calloway… Carlisle… Fulton… Graves… Hickman… Livingston… Marshall and McCracken.

In southeast Missouri… Bollinger… Butler… Cape Girardeau… Carter… Mississippi… New Madrid… Perry MO… Ripley…  Scott… Stoddard and Wayne MO.

Periods of showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rainfall will continue to track northeast across the  watch area through much of the day Thursday.

Rainfall totals through Thursday afternoon are forecast to range from 1 to 4 inches from northwest to southeast across southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.

Totals of 2 to 5 inches are forecast across far western Kentucky.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
