PADUCAH – A 3-pointer at the buzzer by Miyah Davis gave the Lady Marshals a 17-2 lead at the end of the first quarter over Paducah Tilghman Tuesday as they went on to beat the Lady Tornados 55-27, extending their season record to 14-4.
The Lady Marshals stretched their lead out to 24-2 following a three by Briley English before Tilghman would score again on a three from Sophia Patterson. Two more Lady Marshals 3-pointers were added by Davis and English and six points by Hannah Langhi for a 36-8 halftime lead.
Both teams put up nine points in the third quarter, seven of the Lady Marshals points by Langhi on her way to lead the team with 22 and two by Kat Howard, for a 45-17 lead going into the fourth quarter.
English opened the fourth quarter with her sixth three of the game as both teams added 10 fourth quarter points. This was the Lady Marshals first win over Tilghman since the 2013-14 season after dropping all three meetings last season to the Lady Tornados, the last coming in the first round of the 1st Region Tournament.
Along with Langhi’s 22 points in the game, she pulled in 14 rebounds.
The Lady Marshals will play Graves County at home in a double-header on Friday.
