Marshall County Sheriff’s Report – December 7

sheriffOn Wednesday December 2nd Deputy Steven Oakley and Deputy Luke Rudd observed a subject on Gilbertsville Hwy after dark, wearing dark clothing. The Deputies detected a strong odor of alcohol. The subject advised he had some drinks prior to contact. Terence D. Spindler 48, of Calvert City, was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

On Thursday December 3rd Deputy Steven Oakley and Deputy Luke Rudd received a call about a subject walking down US 68 West. Upon arrival a presence of alcohol was detected. The subject admitted to drinking prior to contact. Sandra F. McDougal 52, of Benton, was arrested and charged with Alcohol Intoxication in a Public Place.

According to Detective Lieutenant Matt Hilbrecht, a narcotics investigation, which was lead by Detective Don Tidwell, lead to two arrests on December 4th.  Detective Tidwell had been conducting an investigation involving 41 year old Timothy L. Long, of Hardin, KY and his wife Rebecca D. Long 34 of Hardin.  The investigation lead to a search warrant being conducted at the defendant’s residence of 365 Watkins Street Hardin, KY.  The search warrant yielded 19.3 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 13 grams of marijuana, glass pipe, digital scales, rolling papers, grinder, $107.00 cash, and a semi-automatic handgun. Both Timothy Long and Rebecca Long were charged with trafficking in a controlled substance 1st degree, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

For the week of November 30th through December 7th the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to the following: 27 Traffic Accidents, 2 DUI’s, 1 Reckless Driver, 7 Motorist Assists, 8 Burglary/Theft reports, 3 Animal Complaints, 9 Disturbances, 12 Investigations, 1 Domestic Disturbance, 18 Warrants Served, 6 Civils Served, 49 Extra Patrol Request, 19 Have a Deputy Call and 13 Traffic Stops contributing to a call volume of 314 calls responded to.
