Marshall County Sheriff’s Report – November 20

sheriffToday at approximately 10:30am, Administrators at Marshall County High School were made aware that a possible threat to the school had been posted to a social media site called “After School “. The app is designed for students and is school specific. A threat of a bomb had been posted. As a precaution, the students were evacuated and law enforcement was notified.

Two more posts were made including one that stated the threat was not a joke and a third post was made stating ” We’ve got guns” was made.

Officers from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, Benton Police Department, and Kentucky State Police, including a KSP bomb dog, made a search of every room and structure on campus. After this extensive search the all clear was given and students were returned to the school to finish the day.

Detectives from the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office are at the school and are continuing to investigate in order to find the person making the posts.
