Marshall County High School students earn AP Scholar Awards

We are pleased to announce that forty-one Marshall County High School students have earned AP Scholar Awards based on their outstanding performance on the 2015 Advanced Placement® Exams.

The College Board confers this distinction on the top male and female students in each U.S. state and the District of Columbia with scores of 3 or higher on the greatest number of AP Exams, and then the highest average score (at least 3.5) on all AP Exams taken.

The College Board’s AP Program provides willing and academically-prepared students with the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses while still in high school and to earn college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP Exams.

Twenty-six of the forty-one students earned the AP Scholar Award by completing three or more AP exams with scores of 3 or higher. They are Cassidy Adair (MCHS ‘15), David Barkley (MCHS ‘15), Maxwell Chambers, Shelby Clark, Edward Dodd (MCHS ‘15), Samuel Dunn (MCHS ‘15), Christopher C. Edwards, Sydney Ferm (MCHS ‘15), Caitlin Harvey, Karson Johnson (MCHS ‘15), Daniel Lepore, Ellie Lovett (MCHS ‘15), Jacob Mason, Cameron Miller, Grant Miller (MCHS ‘15), Rachel Northcutt (MCHS ‘15), Shelton Owen, Elizabeth Padgett, Dax Parker (MCHS ‘15), Savana Peal (MCHS ‘15), Hunter Peck, Cheyenne Powell (MCHS ‘15), Justin Smith (MCHS ‘15), Ellie Steele (MCHS ‘15), Tyler Sutherland (MCHS ‘15), and Skyler Vanmeter (MCHS ‘15).

Four of the forty-one students earned the AP Scholar with Honor Award by receiving an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams. They are Ian Harrington, Ashtynn Herrington (MCHS ‘15), Alexa Morgan (MCHS ‘15) and Stephanie Russell (MCHS ‘15).

Eleven of the forty-one students earned the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by receiving an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken, and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams. They are Robert Blankenship (MCHS ‘15), Alexander Foust, Jeremiah Halter (MCHS ‘15), Matthew Lawson (MCHS ‘15), Nathan Mason, Meredith Mullins (MCHS ‘15), Daniel Padgett (MCHS ‘15), Olivia Parker, Christopher Senf (MCHS ‘15), Caroline Wells (MCHS ‘15), Taylor Young.

Three of the forty-one students earned the National AP Scholar Award. This award is granted to students in the United States who receive an average score of at least 4 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 4 or higher on eight or more of these exams. They are Robert Blankenship (MCHS ‘15), Matthew Lawson (MCHS ‘15) and Daniel Padgett (MCHS ‘15).
