A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet plans to restrict traffic to one lane on the US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge at Aurora on Monday, November 16, 2015.

The US 68/KY 80 Eggners Ferry Bridge will be restricted to one lane starting at approximately 10:00 a.m., Monday, to facilitate the pouring of concrete for a pier cap on the new bridge. This lane restriction for Friday is expected to be in place for about 10 hours.

If all goes at planned on Monday this could be the last concrete pour that will require lane restrictions on the existing bridge. Concrete trucks are required to park on one lane of the old bridge to deliver concrete to the work site for the new structure. The contractor is attempting to get this pour in before heavy rain is expected on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Motorists should be alert for one lane traffic with alternating flow controlled by flaggers during the day on Monday. Delays to traffic in this work zone have been fairly minor, generally less than 5 minutes.
to the number of trucks delivering materials to the construction site for the new bridge, motorists should continue to use caution in this busy work zone at all times.

Once this concrete pour is completed, the contractor should be within a few weeks of being able to set a tentative date for placement of the main span for the new bridge.
