Man Charged With DUI Following Leeder Bottoms Crash

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY – Two Paducah men were hospitalized Thursday afternoon after a crash in Leeder Bottoms.

According to authorities, McCracken County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash with injuries in Leeder Bottoms near the intersection of US 45 and KY 1241.

Deputies say 81-year-old Carl Mathis and his passenger, 86-year-old Mattie Mathis, both of Mayfield, were driving a pickup truck and hit another vehicle driven by 31-year-old Gary Tabor Jr. of Paducah.

Tabor and his passenger, 47-year-old Brian Johnson of Paducah, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of multiple injuries. Mr. and Mrs. Mathis were treated at the scene by Mercy Regional EMS.

The road was shut down for nearly an hour while responders cleaned-up the accident.

Gary Tabor Jr. was charged with one count of DUI with aggravating circumstances.
