Semi Fire Blocking I-24 Eastbound Lanes in Christian County

A semi fire has shut down the I-24 eastbound lanes near the 80 mile marker in Christian County.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet says both eastbound lanes are blocked at this time.

Estimated duration for clean-up is 3 hours.

The eastbound exit ramp to US 68 at Cadiz Exit 65 has been closed for rehab work. It was scheduled to reopen today, so KYTC personnel and the contractor are reopening the eastbound I-24 Exit 65 ramp to US 68 at Cadiz to allow an emergency detour along US 68 eastbound to the Pennyrile Parkway southbound.

The work zone lane restriction is being altered to move all traffic to the exit.

Eastbound motorists should be alert for slowing and stopped traffic as they approach the 65 mile marker as all traffic will forced to exit at the US 68 Interchange.
