MARSHALL COUNTY – As bowling season begins with 50 bowlers, Marshall County Special Olympics is excited to look back over a very successful year!
Marshall County Special Olympics Track & Field team attended the Kentucky Special Olympics Summer Games 2015 June 5th-7th, at EKU
Richmond campus with 14 athletes in participating.
They came home with numerous medals and ribbons.
Many of our athletes were moved to a higher bracket at Summer Games due to their improved times at Regionals. Several of these athletes went on to beat their personal best times at Summer Games.
This year Marshall County had 2 Pentathletes competing. Christian Andresen came home with a Gold medal in the M01 Pentathlon division for the 2nd year. Tommy Hunt-Kemp came home with a Silver medal in the M02 Pentathlon division.
Also on June 22nd, we held our annual Awards Banquet. Athletes were all presented with awards for their participation in their different sports.
We also recognized our Athletes of the Year, Harli Hanisch and Xander Wolff.
We would like to thank Benton First United Methodist Church for allowing us to use their Fellowship Hall and John and Paulette Morgan for catering our meal.
Lastly, we would like to Thank all of Marshall County for their continued support.
