Jackson Purchase Clay Crushers compete at Kentucky State Shoot

BEREA, Kentucky – The Jackson Purchase Clay Crushers participated in the Kentucky State AIMS/SCTP/ATA Trap shoot June 30th-July 5th. The shoot was held at the Central Kentucky Gun Club in Berea, Ky.

Some team members competed only in the AIMS/SCTP portion of the Ky State Shoot, while others competed in the ATA events as well. The events included 200 singles, 100 doubles, and 100 handicap yardage targets.

The boys shot well individually and also as a team placing in the following events, shooting 200 singles each. Team members included Nathan Hartsell, Ty Moore, Travis Coursey, Drew Wyatt and Caleb Pahl.

– In the SCTP singles event the team placed 1st in the Intermediate class.
– In the AIM singles event the team placed 4th in the Sub-Junior category.

The following placed individually:
– Nathan Hartsell: Runner up in class in  doubles, sub-junior singles 5th, sub-junior handicap 3rd, sub-junior doubles runner-up, tied for AIM high all around, which was settled by reverse score.  Champion in SCTP singles.

– Drew Wyatt: Pre-Sub singles runner-up, Pre-Sub doubles runner-up, Pre-Sub handicap champion, and in the ATA portion hall of fame Sub-Jr. handicap champion

– Ty Moore: Pre-Sub singles 3rd, Pre-Sub handicap 3rd (both classes were a tie for 2nd resulting in reverse score to place the shooters), Pre-Sub Doubles Champion.

The team will be competing at the AIM Grand American shoot at the World Recreation and Shooting Complex in Sparta, Illinois August 1-4.
