Firefighters battle structure fire, rain and cold temps Thursday afternoon in Palma

fire7PALMA – Firefighters worked in the rain and cold temperatures today battling a structure fire on George Clark Rd. in Palma. Three departments responded to the call including Palma-Briensburg, East Marshall and Possum Trot-Sharpe.

Responders were called to the 1200 block of George Clark Rd. at approximately 12:20 p.m. where they discovered the residence fully engulfed. Firefighters utilized at least five trucks and numerous members working for more than two hours to battle back flames which moved rapidly through the home leaving little more than a shell of the front porch by 2 p.m.

Firefighters remained on scene late this afternoon working to extinguish hot spots that continued to arise despite the intermittent flow of rainfall. We will bring you more information as it becomes available.
