McCracken County Deputies confiscate $600 in crystal meth, Calvert City couple arrested for trafficking

drugarrestsMCCRACKEN COUNTY – A Calvert City couple has been arrested on charges of trafficking in methamphetamine following a traffic stop in McCracken County.

According to police reports, Deputies Todd Ray and Kyle Latta conducted a traffic stop on a pickup truck for traffic violations at the intersection of Benton Road and Valley Street in McCracken County. A Marshall County detective assisted at the scene, as well.

The vehicle was found to be occupied by David Darnell (the driver) and Amber Lane (a passenger). During the course of the stop, deputies conducted a search of the truck where they seized $600 worth of crystal methamphetamine, a smoking pipe and digital scales.

After the couple was arrested, Lane admitted that she had concealed a quantity of Marijuana inside her pants when they were being pulled over.

Darnell was charged with trafficking in Methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, speeding, no registration receipt and rear license not illuminated. Lane was charged with trafficking in Methamphetamine, possession of Marijuana and tampering with physical evidence.

Both Darnell and Lane were lodged in the McCracken County Regional Jail.
