Born November 14th, 1956 in Trigg County, Kentucky, to the late Richard Hoover and Virgie (Hoskins) Sholar, Mr. Sholar was a 1974 graduate of South Marshall High School and a self-employed heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Dexter Pentecostal Church.
Mr. Sholar is survived by his son, Matthew Sholar of Hardin, Kentucky; daugther, Melanie Cannon, husband Brian of Hardin, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Jaden Cannon, Lilyonna Sholar, and Rhett Sholar; three aunts, Glenda Sholar, Willie Rae Vasquez, and Dixie Rudolph; and two uncles, Frank Pogue and Donnie Pogue.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 16th, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth Street, Benton, Kentucky, with Bro. Elijah Balentine and Bro. Brett Miles officiating. Interment will follow in Ferguson Springs Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 15th, 2022 at the funeral home.
