Roy Smith Owens, 92, of Wickliffe, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at Life Care Center in LaCenter.
Roy was born in Carlisle County on February 16, 1930 to the late Isaac and Inez Dodson Owens. He attended North Ballard Baptist Church. Roy retired from the USDA Soil Conservation Services as a technician. His home was on the farm where he always kept busy.
He is survived by his daughter, Garyena Belcher of Wickliffe; two sons, Monte A. Owens and wife, Angela of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jerry Owens of Millersville, Maryland; one brother, I.J. Owens (June) of Bellflower, California; four grandchildren, Trevor, India, Julia and Sydney Owens; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, JoAnn Dennis Owens; one sister, Katherine Denton; three brothers, Ralph Owens, Bill Owens and Burl Owens; and his parents.
The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center for their exceptional care of Roy.
Services will be held at a later date to be announced.
