Mrs. Catherine Downing, 69

Mrs. Catherine Downing, age 69 of Calvert City, KY died on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Mercy Health – Lourdes Hospital in Paducah, KY. She was retired from Suburban Propane where she worked as an office administrator. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Born Sunday, August 17, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Byron Wilhoit and the late Helen (Butcher) Wilhoit Clark.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Lewis Downing of Calvert City, KY, son, Chris Downing, wife Alisa of Paris, TN, daughter Peggy Hall, husband Edd of Calvert City, KY, grandchildren, Ellen Catherine Downing, James Dawson Watkins, wife Amy, and great-grandchild, Bentley Dawson.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home, Bro. Chris Downing and Bro Charles LaChance officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Collier Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Bethel Baptist Church Youth Fund, Gilbertsville, KY or the New Harmony Baptist Church, Paris, TN.
