
Following their 68-43 win over Fulton County, the 2-0 CFS Lady Eagles suffered their first loss of the season 58-49 to Carlisle County. It was the sixth time since 2004 the two schools have played and all six wins have gone to the Lady Comets.
Gracie Howard scored 54 points combined in the two games and Lillian Burnett put up 37 points and recorded a double-double in both games with 13 and 12 rebounds.
Friday, at Fulton County, the game was tied 24-24 at halftime but the Lady Eagles big 44 point second half while holding the Lady Pilots to 19 fueled their 25 point win.
In Saturday’s home game against Carlisle County, the Lady Eagles held a 31-28 lead at halftime, trailed by four at the end of the third quarter but couldn’t close the gap on the Lady Comets in the fourth.
CFS heads to Mayfield tonight to play the Lady Cardinals (0-1) then host Calloway County (1-1) on Friday in their first district game. Both games tip-off at 7:30.
