Ruth relished life, she loved her home and family, and her roses and gardening. She was a passionate Gardner and loved the beauty of Butterflies. She loved cooking and telling stories about her amazing life. She loved playing the piano and singing. She sang in the church choir for years. She loved dancing, taking cruises, and listening to live music. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Born Sunday, January 9, 1921 in Olmsted, IL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Alonzo “Lonny” Houseright and the late Carrie (Watkins) Houseright. She was the wife of the late Maurice L. Beshear.
Surviving are her special friend and caregiver, Linda Smith of Grand Rivers, KY; nephew, William Scott Arnold of Pontiac, IL and 9 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her companion of many years, Thomas Chambers, one son, Stan Beshear, and two daughters, Janice Lynn Beshear and Vivian Kay Beshear; 4 brothers, Loren Houseright, Carl Houseright, Frank Houseright, Matthew Edward Houseright and 1 sister, Frances McClellan.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, November 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Small officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Bethel Cemetery, Gilbertsville, KY.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to on Friday, November 19, 2021, at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West 5th, Benton, Kentucky.
