It was their fifth straight and the 11th for Head Coach Michael Boone. Next week they will host the Region 1 Tournament with a goal to win their fifth straight region title and program’s 22nd.
An early 1-0 lead came seven minutes in on a goal by Kelsey Crass. The Lady Eagles drew even just under the 21′ mark of the first half on a goal by Hadley Looper. Mia Teague found the net off a corner from Zoe Maxlow to put the Lady Marshals up 2-1 at halftime.
Just seconds into the second half, Kallen Fuller scored for the 3-1 lead.
Boone said with the lead, he encouraged his players to be composed and settle things down in the middle of the physical game adding that the games will be physical from here on out and he likes their chances.
“Proud of the effort and happy for the girls”, Boone said. “Certainly we like the bigger trophy but we get to host the region now. That’s really the most important part about tonight.”
