
Mr. Carl Dwain Futrell, 70, of Boaz, passed away on Wednesday, August 11, 2021 surrounded by his loving family.
Dwain was born in Paducah on May 17, 1951 to Carl Ray and Margaret (McCallister) Futrell. He worked as a machinist and mechanic at SOTCO and then at VMV for 18 years, until he retired. He was of the Baptist faith. Dwain had many passions that brought him joy throughout his life. He loved to go horseback riding and care for his horses, he enjoyed traveling, he loved laughing and making those around him laugh, as well. Dwain’s family was most important to him, and he cherished every moment he was able to spend with those he loved.
Dwain is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Day) Futrell; one daughter, Pam (Richard) Pool of Bardwell; two sons, Mike (Trish) Futrell of Paducah and Kevin (Tammy) Futrell of Symsonia; one brother, Rick (Phyllis) Futrell of Symsonia; and eight grandchildren, Emma Futrell, Ellie Futrell, Carter Gibson, Karlie Gibson, Cody Tynes, Elijah Vann, Landon McReynolds, and Justin Futrell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Margaret Futrell.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Bro. Barry Summerville officiating.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
Burial will follow the funeral service at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery in Boaz.
