Mr. Marvin Louis Johnston, 94 of Calvert City, Kentucky, the Griggstown community died Monday, August 2nd, 2021 at Baptist Health Paducah. Born May 18, 1927 in Marshall County, Kentucky, Mr. Johnston was the son of the late Albert and Lizzie (Peck) Johnston. He was a retired sticher at Florsheim Shoe Company and a life-long farmer. He was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mr. Johnston is survived by three daughters, Linda (Ralph) Rose and Kathy Farmer, both of Benton, Kentucky, and Brenda (Eddie) Rose of Lewisport, Kentucky; six grandchildren, Carl (Elaine) Rose, Alison Rose, Kasey (Wade) Wolfe, Levi Farmer, Jacob (Jennifer) Farmer, and Dr. Crystal (Robin) Rose-Irwin; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 69 years Doris (Salyer) Johnston; one grandson, Brent Rose; one brother, Clay Washington Johnston; and three sisters, Mattie Jo Hill, Rose Harper, and Cosette Hill.

Funeral services will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at Collier Funeral Home, 211 West Fifth Street, Benton, Kentucky. The Rev. Doug Sanders will officiate with interment to follow in Salyer Cemetery in the Griggstown community.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 8th, 2021 at the funeral home.
