Mr. Charles Ray Woods, age 91, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at his residence.
He was a member of Christian Brethren Assembly, a retired employee of General Tire and a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Woods is survived by his wife, Sara Smoot Woods; one son, Steven (Lisa) Woods of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Teresa Woods (Dennis) Pierceall of Mayfield, KY; four grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Woods, Arnold Woods and Paul Woods; four sisters, Virginia Workman, Lorene Ray, Naomi Cherry and Ethyl Axley; and his parents, William David and Iva McDaniel Woods.
Funeral services for Mr. Charles Ray Woods will be 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Bro. Rick Shower will officiate. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post # 26.
Pallbearers will be Torin Pierceall, Jace Woods, Keaton Pierceall, Will Whitenton, Roger Reeves and Bob Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Cherry, Paul Ray, Roger Hobbs, Van Padgett and Jamie Miller.
Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
