Hallie Laverne Poole O’Connor, age 91, of Wickliffe, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at the Ray & Kay Eckstein Hospice Care Center in Paducah.
Hallie was born in Ballard County on February 26, 1930 to the late George Amos and Bertha Allcock Poole. She was a member of Southside Missionary Baptist Church in Wickliffe. Hallie had a passion for quilting. She designed and made quilts for everyone in her family and hand stitched every one of them. Hallie and her late husband, Robert, also enjoyed keeping a large vegetable garden every year. She was a devoted family woman who loved spending time with her children and helped raise and care for all of her beloved grand and great-grandchildren.
Hallie is survived by two daughters, Freda (Gene) Bolin of Columbus, Kentucky and Glenda (Gary) Deweese of Barlow; two sons, Dusty (Sharmin) O’Connor of Springville, Tennessee and Tommy (Lori) O’Connor of Wickliffe; one sister, Janice (John) Purcell of Lawton, Oklahoma; three brothers, Gene (Nancy) Poole of South Fulton, Tennessee, Clarence Poole of Wickliffe and Danny (Judy) Poole of La Center; one daughter-in-law, Wanda O’Connor of Wickliffe; nine grandchildren, Christy (Rick) Webster, Frankie (Kristen) Cage, Melanie (Chad) Barber, Michael Bolin, Bobby Ray (Missy) O’Connor, Dustin (Nicole) O’Connor, Mandy (Waylon) Mayberry, Cassidy (Justin) Dyson and Cody O’Connor; 10 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Harold O’Connor; two sons, Bobby O’Connor and Delbert Louis O’Connor; four brothers, Roger Poole, Carlos Poole, Garnett Poole and Willard Poole; and her parents.
Funeral services for Hallie will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Bro. Dee Hazlewood and Bro. Joe Skinner officiating. Burial will follow at Wickliffe City Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the service time of 2:00 PM on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the funeral home.
