Glenna Carol DeJarnett Sams, age 67, of Cunningham, formerly of Blandville, passed away on Friday, April 9, 2021 at her home.

Glenna was born on October 6, 1953 to the late Roy Lee “Buddy” DeJarnett and Maxine Arington DeJarnett. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church. Glenna graduated from the Draughon’s Business College in Paducah before starting her career in pharmaceutical sales where she worked for over 25 years, most of that time with Quest Pharmaceuticals. She was a woman who knew no strangers and loved to talk with anyone who would take part in a conversation. Glenna was a people person and friend to so many and she selflessly gave herself to anyone in need. Her family was her life. Glenna loved everyone in her family but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart and she loved taking the opportunity to care for them.

Glenna is survived by her husband, Wayne Sams of Cunningham; two sons, Eric Sams (Marla) and Curtis Sams (Sabrina), all of Fancy Farm; one sister, Yvonne Gant (Ricky) of Blandville; five grandchildren, Devin Sams (Misha), Laken Martin (Trey), Abigail Sams, Kinlee Sams and Hudson Sams; one great-grandchild, Hallie Martin; and several nephews and a niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Buddy and Maxine DeJarnett.

Funeral services for Glenna will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell with Bro. Ian Carrico officiating. Burial will follow at Cunningham Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the funeral home.
