Ky. Lake Chamber of Commerce will transition to Ky. Lake Tourism-CVB office

The Kentucky Lake Chamber of Commerce, after a recent board of directors meeting, announced that they will be making a transition across Highway 68 as they move into office space at the Kentucky Lake Tourism and CVB office. The Chamber and CVB will still remain separate entities, but the move offers a chance for enhanced collaboration on projects that benefit the community as a whole.

Currently located behind the CFSB location in Draffenville, the Chamber will only be making a short move to the CVB office at 93 Carroll Road. The Chamber office has been located at its current location for several decades, and the building has seen its best days.

In September, the Chamber welcomed a new Executive Director in Mitchell Ponder, who is excited to make the transition. The Chamber has already worked on several projects with the tourism office, and Ponder believes this move will only lead to more project ideas.

I’m looking forward to our Chamber making this move that will allow us to collaborate more on behalf of our business community”, said Ponder. “A new building offers a fresh face for a Chamber that is actively pursuing new ideas to help our local businesses.”

In the most recent meeting, the Chamber also welcomed Jessica Adams into her new role as the Chairman of the Chamber Board of Directors. She steps into the role after Wes McGregor’s term as Chair expires at the end of the year.

Adams states, “This move for the Chamber is a tangible representation of the many things we have been striving toward this year as a Chamber, becoming a more accessible tool and voice for our local businesses and creating stronger partnerships with other local entities. I am excited to be stepping into my role as Chairman of the Board of Directors during this exciting and innovative time for our Chamber and for Marshall County. We have a fantastic board that is committed to this community and I’m looking forward to everything we will accomplish in 2021!”
