Mrs. Christine Stacy “Chris” Dotson, age 80 of Starkville, MS formerly of Benton, KY died on Monday, September 7, 2015 at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Born Thursday, December 6, 1934 in Thacker, WV, she was a homemaker and member of the Benton Church of the Nazarene.
Chris loved quilting and gardening. She entertained guests and always had a meal ready. Many people will remember her fried apple pies or biscuits and gravy.
Surviving are her son, David Dotson of New Orleans, LA, daughter Karen Mock, husband Paul of Starkville, MS; 6 grandchildren, Matthew Mock and his wife Paige of Batesville, MS, and Raychel Stapleton of Tampa, FL, Jacob O’Brien and his wife Ruth of Colorado Springs, CO, Andrew Mock of Starkville, MS, Anna-Beth Dennis and her husband Jordan of Starkville, MS and Dylan Authement of Thibodaux, LA; 1 special great grandson Jaxon Lawson Dennis of Starkville, MS; brother, John Stacy and his wife Elaine of Columbus, GA, sisters, Florence Jackson of Benton, KY and Carol Stacy of Berwyn, IL.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold Dotson, 4 sisters, and 1 brother. Her parents were the late John and Oma (Smith) Stacy.
A Funeral service will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at the chapel of the Collier Funeral Home with Rev. David O’Neal and Rev. Mike Wilford officiating. Burial will follow in Murray Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2015 at Collier Funeral Home, Benton, KY.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House, 5159 W Main St, Tupelo, MS 38801.
