Mr. Charles Melvin Sanderson, Age 87 of Mayfield, KY passed away Saturday July 25, 2020 at the Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
Mr. Sanderson served as part of the Military Police in the Army from 1953 until 1955. He retired from General Tire and was a farmer.
Mr. Sanderson is survived by his wife of 67 years Bobbie Sanderson; four sons Charles Steven Sanderson, Dennis W. Sanderson, Ronnie M. Sanderson and Larry K. (Mitzi) Sanderson all of Mayfield, KY; one daughter, Rita Sanderson (Greg) Graves of Lone Oak, KY; five sister, Katie Mae Phelps, Martha McKinney, Patsy Hollan, Mary Copeland and Nancy Copeland all of Mayfield, KY; eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren also survive.
He was preceded in death by his three brother, Edward Sanderson, J.W. Sanderson, and Randall Sanderson; one sister, Onetta Russelburg; two infant sisters; daughter-in-law Toni Sanderson; his parents were Charles Diseral and Esterlee Rodgers Sanderson.
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00am Tuesday July 28, 2020 at the North Mt. Zion Cemetery. Rev. Barry Summerville and Larry Clark will officiate. No visitation is scheduled. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery. Daniel Graves, Danny Sanderson, Stephen Keith, Daniel Munsell, Mark Helfer, and Barron Summerville will serve as pallbearers. Garrett Moreland, Terry McKinney, Steve Perkins, Donald Feagin, Johnny Wells, and Gary Lee Patterson will serve as honorary pallbearers.
