Mrs. Jaunita Darnell, age 81, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield, KY.
She attended Solid Rock Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Mrs. Darnell is survived by her husband of 40 years, Eugene Darnell; one daughter, Debbie Johnston of Sedalia, KY; five grandchildren, Tammie (Gary) Young of Mayfield, KY, Jimmy Carter of Camden, TN, David (Dymisha) Boyd of Mayfield, KY, Melita (Gary) Painter of Mayfield, KY and Gene Burge of Paducah, KY; seventeen great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Vanessa Carter; one sister, Mary Smith; and her parents, Ode and Martha Emerson Smith.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jaunita Darnell will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2020 at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield, KY. Rev. David Lee will officiate. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Cephus Tyler III, Frank Burney, Shawn Burney, Gary Young, Mike Boyd and Dustin Boyd.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
