Johnny Terry, 85

Bro. Johnny Wayne Terry, age 85 of Murray, formerly of Bardwell, went home to be with his Lord at 1:00 a.m. on Friday, April 24, 2020 at his residence.

Bro. Terry was born in Bardwell on October, 11, 1934 to the late William Henry and Mary Pearl Haworth Terry. His passion in life was preaching the gospel and telling others about Jesus. Bro. Terry ministered at several local community churches in Carlisle County, Calloway County and Marshall County. His second passion was for farming and tending to his garden. Bro. Terry’s family will remember him for being the most loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Bro. Terry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Myrtle Adams Terry of Murray; two daughters, Vicki Ballard and husband, Brian of Cunningham and Anita Alexander of Asheboro, North Carolina; three sisters, Huellen Edwards of Cunningham, Mary Beth Bishop of Florida and Nancy Poole and husband, Gene of South Fulton, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Marcus Rudd and wife, Chris of Hickory; Angela Mott and husband, John of Bardwell and Justin Alexander and wife, Savannah of Farmington; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Austin Alexander and Kristen Alexander; one sister, Ethel Sims; two brothers, Hazel B. and G.H. Terry; and his parents.

In compliance with health and public safety directives, the funeral arrangements for Bro. Terry will be private. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell is in charge of arrangements.
