Warning Coordination Meteorologist Rick Shanklin with the National Weather Service in Paducah joined WCBL’s Cindy Riley on Coffee Call recently. He said this has been the second mild winter in a row for the lakes area and the weather in this area is typically unpredictable. He says with the recent tornadoes in Tennessee, it is a reminder to have a couple of ways to get alerts, one being your cell phone that should receive an alert notification. And having a weather radio is always a good idea. He said locally the new Kuttawa Harbor dock was damaged recently from what appears to be from a microburst. Shanklin says it looks like the wet weather for our area will continue and to please, never drive over a road that is covered by water.
